I talk for a living, yet yesterday was my toughest audience so far.600 junior school children, including my daughter.
The topic was jobs. How to make recruitment sound interesting to 7 - 11 year olds?
Hmmm. I have lost a lot of sleep over this.
In the end I told a story of someone who has travelled 🌎 and worked in many different jobs. I then brought it to the present day of how I match people to jobs and help young people who need that extra support.
I was joined by a young person who now works as a Lifeguard 🏊 so he was able to talk about his job and the training to qualify. #proudMentormoment
My daughter also joined us and had even written her own part. #proudMumMoment
The children were brilliantly behaved (would expect no less from the school though) and there were some fabulous questions.
One child thought I was 72 - about to leave at that point! 😮
Another asked the Lifeguard if he could swim......... 🤔
My favourite question is below 👇🏻😁
We came out of the school buzzing and knowing that the stress was totally worth it.
