Nomad HR and Recruitment began in 2015 with 12-hours free start-up support from Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce. A decade later, the owner is seeking investment and a new leader of the business, as her daughter starts high school and they both embark on a new next chapter.
Amy began Nomad to ensure she was home to be part of her daughter growing up.
Nomad offers HR and recruitment consultancy specialising in the manufacturing and engineering sectors to companies from local SME’s to global consultancies.
The Company’s recruitment work includes filling permanent vacancies for clients primarily within the manufacturing and engineering sectors.
The Company practices lean recruitment, including personal profiling, ensuring that only the most suitable candidates are found and avoiding piles of outdated and unpredictable CVs. Due to this, the business has a 92% success rate in recruiting the right person, first time.
Nomad recruits for a variety of positions, from Cleaners through to Managing Directors. The recruitment model for billing was changed in September to value the time put into sourcing candidates and avoiding the unpredictability of competition and clients changing their minds part way through the process. It is called Recruitment Business Partnering and is more affordable to all businesses. This however, could be reviewed and the traditional success fee be re-introduced.
Nomad’s HR consultancy services include the full suite of HR solutions, from grievances to mediation and sickness management.
The Company is being offered as a fully remote and re-locatable opportunity.
Due to the success of its HR and recruitment services, Nomad has a social enterprise arm, which has been acclaimed for its work in making a difference to the lives of vulnerable young people who need help in finding meaningful employment.
Company with a heart
Nomad has won several awards at national and regional level within the SME sector. These include the Start Up award at the Woman Who Awards in 2017, the Community award at the FSB regional awards in the West Midlands in 2023 and the silver award in the CSR category at the national SME awards in December 2023.
Given the opportunity, an acquirer could remove the social enterprise element of the business to focus more time and finances on other parts of the company.
What is the opportunity?
There is huge potential for future development of the business, which is currently based on an active working time of 25-30 hours per week. By extending these hours there would be opportunities to expand Nomad’s recruitment and HR offering. This business has enabled the owner to attend every assembly, play and actively be a part in her daughter’s infant and junior school life. It is time for someone else to take over the reins and enjoy the work/life balance this business has provided.
This business opportunity would be an ideal investment for someone wanting more autonomy and independence, who is looking to take the plunge to be their own boss within the HR or recruitment space. Or it could be perfect for an established business, in say, accountancy or payroll who already have a client base and can begin a new service offering.
Amy is very flexible on how this business could be passed on, so please get in touch if you have any ideas to discuss as she thrives on innovation and creative thinking. Nothing is out of the question. After being in business for nearly 10 years, she would like the legacy to continue and enable another entrepreneur to work their magic in the future.
